Please reach out via email at robertsontattoos@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I do not allow the use of numbing cream before or during any tattoo appointments within my business due to the many potential risks associated with these products. Many numbing cream products contain ingredients that can negatively affect the skins texture, making it more difficult to tattoo properly and furthermore impact the healing process. Additionally, some people may have adverse reactions to the use of numbing cream which will forbid me from proceeding with your appointment on the day.
For best results and a safe tattooing experience, i require all clients to avoid using numbing cream prior to their appointment.
If you do arrive to your appointment having used numbing cream beforehand or is still currently applied I will not be continuing with your appointment on the day, your deposit will be lost and a new one will be required to reschedule.
If you are concerned about pain management or feel that you may struggle to sit through your appointment, please contact me directly via email robertsontattoos@gmail.com or Instagram DM @Robertson.Tattoos so we can discuss the best way to proceed before booking.
A non refundable deposit is required to book a tattoo appointment. This confirms your appointment and by doing so you understand that it also contributes to the design preparation time and secures the services for the allocated time period.
The deposit amount comes off the total cost of the design on the day.
For example if your tattoo cost $1000 total and you paid a $200 deposit then you would be paying the remaining $800 due on the day.
The deposit can be paid via bank transfer with a screenshot to confirm payment. Please note that payments can be held by the bank for a few days if it is a new transaction. If this occurs and payment has not been cleared by the bank the morning before your appointment then your appointment is subject to be rescheduled until deposit has been received. Your appointment is not confirmed until deposit is received or cleared by the bank.
72 hours notice is required to reschedule your appointment otherwise you forfeit your deposit and a new one will be required to re book you in.
If you find yourself running late for your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible to let me know. I understand that unexpected delays can happen, but arriving late may impact the time available for your tattoo and in some cases may require rescheduling.
If you arrive more then 20mins late without prior notice your appointment may be canceled and your deposit forfeited.
Please me mindful that i book my schedule carefully to allow enough time for each client so prompt communication is appreciated to ensure the best experience for everyone.
I understand that you're excited to see your tattoo design! However, I do not send out designs ahead of time. Your design will be ready for you to view at the beginning of your appointment. Minor adjustments can be made during your session if needed but rest assured that i have created your tattoo with your ideas and vision in mind. If you decide on the day that a significant change is needed, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to allow enough time for me to re-design ensuring we are not cut short of tattooing time and I am not rushed during my creative process in designing. If you have any specific concerns please feel free to reach out with as much notice as possible prior to your appointment.
If you have a medical condition or allergy that you think may affect your tattoo appointment, please let me know as soon as possible or before booking. Certain conditions, medications and allergies can impact the tattooing process, healing/aftercare and overall safety. Conditions such as but not limited to diabetes, autoimmune disorders, blood disorders, epilepsy can impact the tattoo and healing as can medications such as but not limited to blood thinners, immunosuppressants, acne medication and certain antibiotics.
All allergies known to you should be disclosed such as but not limited to ink, latex or aftercare products should also be disclosed prior to booking and on the day of your appointment. While i am not a medical professional you may require a doctors approval before booking in for a tattoo appointment. It is your responsibility to ensure you are medically fit to be tattooed so if you have any concerns please contact your healthcare provider before booking - or if this is a sudden occurrence please inform me as soon as possible in case we may need to reschedule/cancel your appointment for your safety.
Deposits are accepted preferably via bank transfer if booking in with me remotely or in cash at the studio if you have arranged an in person consult prior to booking in with me. The remaining balance of your tattoo payable on the day of your appointment is due in cash as we are a cash only studio.
There are a couple ATMs nearby the studio for your convenience but please note these are not cardless ATMs and you will need to carry a bank card to access the machine.
Absolutely! I offer one free touch up appointment with any tattoo/s booked in with me within 3-6 months of your initial appointment.
However, this does not apply if aftercare instructions have been neglected or intentionally disregarded, as improper care can significantly impact the outcome of healing and longevity of your tattoo. If a touch up is required due to intentionally poor aftercare an additional fee (the studio minimum rate) will apply to book in for a touch up appointment.
If you're unsure if your tattoo requires a touch up please feel free to contact me anytime after your tattoo is completely healed (4 weeks after initial appointment) and I'll be happy to assess it for you!
I take great pride in my work and want you to love your tattoo as much as I do and therefore i want it looking 100% perfect for you.
I do not tattoo clients who are pregnant or still currently breastfeeding. During pregnancy and breastfeeding your body is more susceptible to infections and this may compromise the healing process of a new tattoo. There is also the added risk of adverse reactions that could affect you and your baby. For your safety I recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding before getting a tattoo.
Yes i can tattoo over scars and stretch marks but it depends on their age, texture and how they have healed. They must be fully healed beforehand and over a year old. Keep in mind that scar tissue can affect how the ink settles in your skin and results may vary.
However, I do not tattoo over moles for health and safety reasons. Moles should remain visible so any changes in size, shape or colour can be monitored for potential health concerns.
If you have any questions about a specific area, feel free to contact me directly so we can discuss your options.
Yes of course! If you bring in your own original drawing please keep in mind I may need to make some adjustments to ensure it is tattooable as not all designs translate well into the skin.
Yes, but i am particular with the cover up work I take on. I only accept cover-ups if I am confident that the previous tattoo can be 100% covered with no part of the previous tattoo showing through.
If your existing tattoo is not a job I am currently open to taking on I would highly suggest having a few laser tattoo removal sessions to further lighten It. This will better allow for a more effective cover up and give you a wider range of design options.
If you are considering a cover up tattoo please reach out so I can assess your existing tattoo and discuss the best approach beforehand.
I strictly do not copy other artists work under any circumstances. If you provide reference images I will use these and your description of what you would like as inspiration to understand your preferences and vision in mind but I will always create a unique design for you in my own style. Every tattoo I do is custom made to ensure you get something original and tailored to you.
If you are looking for an exact replica of someone else's work/tattoo I would highly recommend booking in with the original artist who created it. Respecting other artists work is important and I believe every tattoo should be one of a kind. However if you are looking for your own one of one tattoo inspired by your reference images or vision then I can definitely assist you.
